Cheese Fest: latest and greatest

A band of awesome volunteers and I are working feverishly to pull all the details together to make the first ever Southern Artisan Cheese Festival a rockin', happy tastebud, cheese and food celebratin' good time! Look for a lot more information in the coming days and weeks, but I wanted to go ahead and share an update of the cheesemakers and artisan food producers who are on board so far.

Quite a few more cheesemakers are thinking about it, checking schedules, and otherwise trying to work it out to join us. If you don't see your favorite artisan cheesemaker on the list, send 'em a lovely note encouraging them to sign on.

And let us know about any food producers we may not be aware of. There are so many folks doing great things with food here in the South, but many times they are super local, so we need you're help to make sure we don't miss anyone. (Please keep in mind, we're narrowing the artisan food category to "things that go on a cheese plate" like cured meats, jams and preserves, pickles, breads, crackers, etc.)

Without further adieu...

  1. PRB, Dozen, O&S - I love living in East Nashville. Lineup looks fantastic.

Re: beer, I would love to see the folks from Yazoo (obviously), Jackalope, Nashvillion, and Calfkiller bringing their local suds. Good People Brewing from down in AL would be nice, but may be a longshot - @GPBrewing on twitter. Great beer all around.

  2. Working on all of those, except I'm not familiar with GPB. Will check with them as well. Thanks and hope to see you at the festival! :)

  3. just met Phil Prichard of Prichard Distillery last night at F Scott's. Fine whiskeys and delicious rum made in Kelso, TN. They need to be there! Beth Huff

  4. If you haven't talked to the Spotted Trotter in Decatur, GA, they are awesome!

  5. I hope you are going to have T-shirts for sale! I look so good in cheese...
