What's new?

Greetings cheese lovers,

Happily March brings the return of Blackberry Farm's Brebis, a luscious, fresh sheep's milk cheese that's only made during sheep milking season. Brebis is heavenly with your favorite preserves or some fresh fruit! And I'm thrilled to add Asheville, North Carolina's Looking Glass Creamery to The Bloomy Rind lineup. I'll have three of their cheeses on hand this weekend: Ellington, a gorgeous pyramid of soft-ripened, ashed goat cheese; Early Girl, a charming lil' crottin of soft-ripened goat cheese; and Chocolate Lab, a semi-firm cows' milk cheese that is finished with a rub of local-to-them chocolate stout and crushed cocoa nibs. Including these four beauties, I'm proud to have *thirteen* southern cheeses in the mix currently (full list below). Go southern cheese!

Night Market is upon us again. Hopefully everyone's made it to at least one Night Market by now. If not, get thee to the Nashville Farmers' Market tomorrow night for an evening with all of your favorite local vendors plus live music and vino. So much fun! Tonight 6-8pm.

The next Hillsboro Village Art Walk will be Thursday, April 7th, and I'll be sampling some of the 'Rind cheeses that are available at Provence Breads and Cafe. The Art Walk is a fun evening to check out shops and restaurants in the Village. Check it out - and stop in Provence to say hey and pick up some cheese.

Save the date: Second Harvest Food Bank's Generous Helpings will be Thursday, May 19th, 5:30-8:30pm, at the Nashville Farmers' Market. 30+ locally owned restaurant serving up tastings plus wine and beer. $40. Great eats for a good cause!

Just in case you or someone you know will be in the ATL for the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival, please come by the southern cheese tent to say hello and meet some of the cheesemakers who are at the forefront of our growing cheese scene in this neck of the woods. Yours truly will be helping out in the tent on Sunday, May 22nd.

I'm working up some other cheesy fun for you guys in the coming months including a field trip to visit a cheesemaker, cheese + beer tastings, and a cheese-centric dinner where we actually break bread with the cheesemakers. Good times!

In the meantime, I'm always happy to see your smiling faces on Saturdays at the Market. If you ever have cheese questions, requests, or special orders, please drop me a note. Many thanks for your continued support, y'all!

Cheers,
Kathleen
